Additional ideas and/or advantages of running the class on line:
Being we are planing this for January 2018 and it's winter we would eliminate a lot of driving back and forth to night classes in the dead of winter.
We wouldn't need to arrange for as many nights of classroom space in a facility like the college.
Instead of a 3-4 days of cram sessions, the on line class training could be spread over 3-5 weeks.
Since there are several really good study sites on line already, it doesn't make sense to reinvent the wheel. We offer a list of them as we already started in this section of UPHams and students could select the one that works for them. Concentrate on a set of sub-elements of study, just as the test questions are broken down, each week, and answer questions as a group.
As hard as it's been to get club members to utilize this format to discuss class options, we might want to have an initial class meeting, maybe an hour long in person to describe objectives, demonstrate how some of the on line study options work, show how to use UPHams and actually log people in to use it, and start there. Access to a room at the college with a large computer screen for demos would be a perfect demo platform.
Anyone with other ideas or comments, or suggestions, please post them here!
I'm afraid we've had a lot of talk at meetings about a class but every month passes and we still aren't nailing anything down. Just saying...January will be here pretty fast.
